Sydney Mail

A unique Australian magazine published weekly in Sydney but widely read all over the country, The Sydney Mail is one of the best reference points for a portrait of Australian culture in the art-deco period of the 1920s and 30s.

As well as news, current affairs, and fantastic photography, it included everything from fiction and poetry to amusing comics and caricatures between striking sketched covers, all printed on high quality paper.

It also has and extensive sports section and bold advertising reminiscent of the period.

The Sydney Mailís special editions were highly sought after, including editions published for Christmas, editions commemorating the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the opening of Parliament in Canberra and numerous royal tours.
