The quintessential fashion magazine, Vogue International mixes hundreds of pages of fashion with feature articles and reviews. Packed with glamorous advertisements for alcohol, watches and cosmetic products, appearing in its hallowed pages has been the ultimate goal for most of the world’s top models. For many readers, Vogue is the final word with regard to style.
Vogue International set the mould for its Australian counterpart (Vogue Australia) with sections devoted to recipes, wine, restaurants, travel and ‘lifestyle’. The international version tended to focus on European trends, in particular the activities of British high society. But it wasn’t simply profiles of the Royal family and their friends, Vogue International also looked to the future with pages dedicated to women’s issues and the changing role of women in the world.
Published monthly, Vogue’s strong, glossy, colour format reflects its content, which is directed at the middle to high end of the market. There’s no question: when it comes to glamour, Vogue says it all!
